Press is operated by Sabot Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

What data we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password. Your password is securely hashed and stored by Supabase - we never have access to it in plain text.
Usage data
We record which tools you use, how many credits you spend, and the URLs you submit for searches. This helps us improve our tools and track your credit balance.
Payment information
When you purchase credits, your payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We only receive confirmation of the transaction, the amount paid, and a reference ID.
Analytics data
We use PostHog to understand how people use the site. This includes page views, button clicks, and general usage patterns. PostHog may collect your IP address, browser type, and device information.
How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide and maintain our services
- Process payments and manage your credit balance
- Send you transactional emails (magic links, purchase receipts)
- Improve our tools based on how they are used
- Respond to your questions or support requests
We do not sell your data. We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in.

Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you logged in and to remember your session. These are essential for the site to work and cannot be turned off.
PostHog may set additional cookies for analytics purposes. You can block these via your browser settings without affecting the core functionality of Press.
Data retention
We keep your account data and usage history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymised usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
